COVID-19 Update: 2nd November 2020 

Covid-19 UPDATE - 30/11/2020

Due to the current situation, we are currently working with very limited staff so please bear with us.

For the next 2 weeks we will ONLY be seeing urgent and emergency cases. If you feel your pet needs to be seen, please call our reception team on 01246 455333 for guidance.

There may be a delay in getting thorough to us and with some of the services we provide - appointments, medication requests etc - but we are working as hard as possible to minimise any disruption.

We'd like to thank all our clients for their understanding and patience during this difficult time.

Following on from the latest update regarding a national lockdown, we will be making some changes to the way we work at Spire Vets.  

We are making some changes to our staff, so we can have them in bubbles for our own safety, and yours, and so we can keep the practice open. This means our staff numbers will be reduced so please bear with us if there are delays in appointments, phone calls/emails being answered and medication requests being processed. 


For the time being, whilst we are in lockdown, we will be postponing our routine appointments and operations. If you have an appointment booked, we will contact you if this needs to be postponed. 

We are still available for any urgent and emergency appointments - please call the practice on 01246 455333 if your pet requires treatment. We are also still offering our emergency out of hours service. 

Please let our reception team know you have arrived for your appointment - failure to do this will mean that your appointment could be delayed or cancelled. 

Please DO NOT wait in the reception area for your appointment - you must wait outside or in your vehicle until the vet/nurse has contacted you. 

Only 1 person is allowed in the consultation room with their pet. 

Repeat Medication 

Medication, including flea and wormers, must be pre ordered 72 hours in advance - please call the practice and place your order. 

Where possible, payment by card is required prior to collection. 

Face masks MUST be worn whilst in the practice. 

Only 2 people are permitted into the reception area at any time due to social distancing.  

Our staff are working extremely hard to provide you and your pet with the best service we can during this uncertain time. Please treat our staff with the respect they deserve and be kind. Unacceptable, threatening and abusive behaviour WILL NOT be tolerated and if this does happen, you will be asked to find an alternative vet practice.  

We would like to thank our clients who have been patient, courteous and fabulous during this time – it means a lot and we really appreciate it.

Have you arrived for an appointment? 

  • Please text your surname and pets name to 07716 298157 and continue to wait outside or in your vehicle 
  • The vet/nurse will call you when they are ready to see you. 
  • Please DO NOT enter the practice until the vet has contacted you. 
  • Only 1 person is allowed in the consultation room with their pet. 
  • Failure to make us aware that you have arrived for your appointment could mean that your appointment is delayed or cancelled.
